It was a hot summer night as Bubba was drinking his beer and watching his favorite T.V. show – Hee Haw. The old hound dog was on the porch snoring and the crickets were in full symphony. All of a sudden there came a car barreling down the dirt road coming to a screeching halt with a cloud of dust! It was cousin Earl - jumping out of the car like his pants was on fire. He ran up the porch and inside slamming the screen door behind him.
Bubba – What in tarnation is wrong with you, Earl?
Earl – Where’s your bathroom? I gotta go – BAD!
Bubba – It’s out back. Don’t forget the…
Earl disappeared in a flash before Bubba could get the words out of his mouth.
Ahhhhhh! Relief! I made it! – thought Earl as he sat on the outhouse pooper.
ThenÂ…. as he reached for the toilet paperÂ….
It was sheer TERROR!!!!
I hope you enjoyed my little story. bwahahaha!
Here's the details:
Outhouse- I cut the craft sticks with a utility knife. They are tough little buggers to cut - just use a sharp knife. I used wide packing tape to hold the craft sticks in place while I glued them. I drilled the tiny holes using a little hand drill - made by Forster. Not electric - just turn the drill bit by hand. Very handy little tool I found in the wood section of my local craft store. I used braiding cord for the hinges and left one side hanging down to attach the toilet paper roll. The door handle is also made with the cord just knotted in the back.
Roof - I love to use recycled soda cans when I can. The Mountain Dew can just seemed perfect for this. Outhouse - Mountain Dew! (snort!) I cut the metal so that the name would show on the front. I used my paper crimper to make it look like the sheet metal you sometimes see on outhouses.
Toliet Paper - I cut a narrow strip of facial tissue and rolled it around a hollow lollipop stick so that I could thread the cord through to make the holder. Turned out cute don't cha think? *giggle*
Thanks for looking. Don't forget to check out the other photo showing door OPENED to expose all the fun!! bwahahaha!
